My first egg ... EVER!!!
I just found my very first egg ever!!
Ok, so exactly one month ago yesterday, I introduced my new male Harlequin Crested Gecko, Napoleon, to my female orange Flame, Josephine.
About six hours later, I caught them breeding!!!
Well, yesterday morning, when I checked Josie's egg-laying box, I found a very pleasant suprise: one little egg!
Two eggs would've been better (or course), but I'm not greedy - I'm very happy with just one egg!
And you know what? Now I can give this little guy my full attention (and I'll be constantly worrying about just one egg, insted of two!)
But I'm am soooo excited! The egg looked good when I candled it; it's got veins, at least. I scurried over and put it in the incubator right away!
I really hope that it's fertile, and that it hatches!
Only time will tell, but I'm going to candle it again next week, and hopefully I'll see a little pink "donut" in there (sign of life/development).
And, I have something to look foward to while I'm waiting to see if this egg hatches ... More eggs being layed!!!
It will take about 2 months for this guy to hatch, and my female should start to lay 1-2 eggs each month, so I have 2 more clutches of eggs being layed to keep me occupied while this little dude incubates.
Just wanted to share my good news with everyone!
Thanks for looking!!!
Wish me luck!!!
