When: November 14th, 2004
Where: Sarah & Melissa's house (Quality Captives)

We have had a tremendous response by members of dendroboard regarding our ad needing help. Based on the number of people who have expressed interest, we have decided to host the next MDG meeting.

We are located in Columbus, Ohio and are very close to I-70 & I-71. So, if you are going to be in the area, please make arrangements to stop by.

Not sure yet, I was thinking of having it start sometime between noon and 3pm.

Paul - make sure you bring a few cages with you...I think everyone would like to see what you have been working on.

Oh I planned on it I should be starting production by that time. You'll have yours next weekend and I am picking up 15 sheets of acrylic tomorrow. So I'll be ready (I hope!) LOL

I plan on coming over for the meeting from Indy, and was wondering if anybody was interested in carpooling. I would be leaving sunday and coming back on sunday. If anyone from the area is interested you can pm or email me.

I'll be there as well. I'll bring as many tanks as I can and some of the inserts as well. If anyone needs anything specific, just let me know before and I'll do my best to get it built and bring it with me so you can save on shipping.

You girls have to help me talk Zach into coming. Come up with something and give him a call. I believe it can be done, the fate of my meeting depends on it.

Yeah this does look like there will be a nice number of people here. I know of a few people who aren't on DB that plan on coming too. Melissa and I are looking forward to it.

My offer for carpooling from Indy to the meeting is still open. I would also like to find out how many people need film canisters. I have a bunch I picked up today, while working, from one of my companys customer. They are the walmart fuji film processing center and have tons of these things. I will be bring some if anybody wants some. I should have at least 100 of these and have them in black and white. Looking foward to meeting alot of new people and see the frog room. I will see you all there.

Default Roll Call

Trying to get an idea of how many people will be coming over on the 14th. We are thinking about having a 'pot luck' for food because of the large number of people who are considering coming.

If you are planning on coming over on the 14th, can you please pm your email address so we can send you directions and get an informal list together of what people will be bringing for a covered dish, to trade or sell, etc as well as send everyone directions to our house. Everyone is encouraged to bring frogs to sell and trade, so I will include those as well.

Thanks,

Melissa

I'll be there.

Does anyone need an extra computer monitor? I have 20-30 sitting in my spare bedroom they are all second hand (from the gubbament, I bought several pallets at auction, in what seems to be a fairly fruitless learning experience. I've made my money back but am left with lots stuff left over).

Most the Monitors are 14/15" inches and missing power cords (simple 3 pronged black cords which if you don't have any lying about are cheap/easy enough to find). In the interests of making space these are free to anyone who wants one (and will be at the meeting as I'm not shipping these.

I'll be there! It will be good to finally meet everyone, and to finally see the Quality Captives collection.

This should be a great time, and I encourage everyone to consider posting things in the Classifieds section that you might want to swap/sell, as this will be the best opportunity to avoid shipping charges and that nervous feeling you get when you know that frogs/plants may not make it through the mail in good shape this time of the year.

I have a few things listed, but let's see if we can get some others going, as this could be a great time of swappin' and dealin'!

I had a fantastic time and enjoyed meeting everyone! There are so many incredible people in this hobby, and so many generous individuals. Thank you to Sarah and Melissa for hosting, and thank you to everyone for making it an enjoyable event.

There are too many other people to list, but it was great to meet Larry and Hollie (great people) and I was thrilled to finally meet so many of you in person (even more great people). Kyle, I really enjoyed meeting you, and I look forward to receiving some of your impressive artwork soon.

Thanks again, everyone!

Larry,

It was nice meeting you and Hollie too. I really had a hard time not taking the frogs you brought with you off your hands ;-). Thanks for all the plants!

Default Had a Blast!

The MDG meet in Columbus was great! I was really impressed by the level of knowledge, the amazing frogs brought and sold (Quality Captives, Rainforest Junkies and Larry!)and overall all the folks and food. Melis and Sarah did a great job of hosting and made great efforts to speak all. You Gals have really built up a great collection and all the thumbnails rocked. The time flew bye this afternoon and I'm looking forward to the next meeting. It was nice to put faces to all the postings. Hope to see u all at the next one.

Alex
p.s. Paul can't wait till production is fully ready, your viv's kick ass!

Alex - Thanks for the compliment. I am setting up the one you saw tonight to test the thicker material.

Trey - Don't forget to email me the dimensions you need for that insert!

Had a good time yesterday. It was well worth the drive!

For those of you that are not already on the list, if you send me your email address and location I can add you to the Midwest Dendrobatid Group email list. This way you can be notified of all the meetings that are going on.

I had a great time at the MDG meeting and would like to thank the Melissa and Sarah for hosting the meeting at their place. I enjoyed meeting everyone and Look foward to the next meeting. I would also Like to thank Larry for the free plants, Also Melissa and Sarah for the Jewel Orchid clippings.

I have to admit I love your tanks and frogs. I was impressed woth the frog room and cant image all the hard work you two ladies put fourth to bring us such wonderful frogs. I am looking foward to getting my first pair which will hopefully be soon and I will be getting them from you two.

Your tanks gave me so many ideas to try for my custom viv that I think I may try a smaller version before the large one that I planned on. Also if everything goes good I should be able to host a meeting in Febuary if anyone is interested.

Thanks Again,
Mike P.

Well after the 4th or so day in the quality captives frog room, I had to break down today and pick up another rack on the way home... This hobby has me so hooked. Now I am going to need a misting system. :-)
