Default How to get a permit for 'illegal' frogs?

If someone lives in Oregon, is it possible to get a license or permit to keep 'illegal' species? Specifically African Bull Frogs and Fire Bellied Toads. I've been told it's possible, but I haven't been able to dig up any solid information. It seems that all the permits I can find are for furry critters. I've been discussing it with several people from Oregon, and none of us have come up with anything so far.

Can anyone point me to some solid information?

I think you need to start with the contact information found in here

http://www.aglink.org/agbook/2Non-Tradi ... estock.pdf although you are probably going to have problems with getting a permit for a bullfrog as the state declared them an invasive species

see http://www.clr.pdx.edu/publications/fil ... S_Plan.pdf
which means that you are probably going to have to approach it from the angle of getting a permit to import an invasive species to the state.

Yah, Fire Bellied Toads are illegal, as are Green Tree Frogs, Grey Tree Frogs, African Clawed Frogs, Spadefoot Toads, all slider turtles, and some other random stuff. I think they pretty much outlaw anything they think could be invasive and/or dangerous.

Wow, I thought the laws in Connecticut were bad, and they are  . I can buy a python big enough to swallow a small child, but a dart frog? Nope.

Cali has some pretty ridiculous laws as well. :P I'd work at getting some of these laws reversed, but that would be like walking into a courtroom wearing a sign that says "Hey! I've got illegal animals!" I'm not sure it's possible to get them reversed anyhow.
