Default rescued some baby opossums this morning

Hello all,

Today after leaving my shop at 5am I unfortunately saw a momma opossum get hit by a car at a distance, as I drove closer I saw there was a few little baby's spread out on the road, out of the 7 I saw...only 3 lived.

I scooped up the 3 still alive and put them in a bucket with fresh warm towels ( lucky I'm a window cleaner and got fresh towels out of the laundry just before)

I have them home now in s crate I had for my puppy, with blankets and a soft pouch I used for my sugar gliders.

Fed them some kitten formula and they took it good, seem to be eating well and OK.

Anyone here have any advice? Just keeping them until I'm sure they can survive in the wild, no matter how hard the kids beg to keep them.

-Tim

I would recommend contacting your state's Wildlife Rehabilitator.

Dude, sorry not to see this sooner. Next time, please put "help" in the subject line.

When in doubt, google:

Orphaned Opossums & Injured Opossums

Wildlife First Aid - How to Feed Baby Mammals

How-ev-ah... It is true that you many find contradictory advice, in that case come back and we'll try to (re)direct you to those in the know...

And major props for doing this

Thanks for the advice, and thankfully they are thriving.

Even exploring and being very "typical"

Eating baby food veggies and kitten formula / water.
