Default New FedEx Account !

Just opened a basic business account with them.....

Anyone have any advice or "magic words" to gain access to discounts or other cool features?

ship with SYR since they are now with them i believe. FedEx is way to expensive now though. Cost me $116 to ship a three pound 14x14x14 box to Las Vegas, NV overnight

I have one and it still ended up being cheaper to use SYR. I have not used it with the change to FedEx, but I am going to assume it is still going to be cheaper unless you are putting out several shipments a week.

Interesting.....So, Chad Brown (SYR) just has one BIG business account with FedEx and that's how he can offer the slightly lower rates...thru him and thus, thru FedEx.

Will everything stay the same -the FedEx still picks up the package the same way ect?

Yep, and I am sure he is getting a profit. My dad was logistics for a large auto manufacturer in the USA for 15 yrs and North American distribution on a big three auto project for 5yrs. Next day for high volume is next to nothing

As a former high volume corporate shipper, I wouldn't call it next to nothing. I would call it about 1/2 - 1/3 the full retail price of express shipping (until you get into the weird stuff, 14' long, 600# cement mixer parts, next day air to Afghanistan? 6 figures).

Or planes of engines from Japan to USA!

But a 1/3 the price is a good discount to mark up 25% to offer discount shipping. Most mom and pop resale stores don't get those rates. Chad has put his shipping service in several markets so I am assuming he get very good cooperate rate.
