Default vittatus adult cage size

I have two vittatus in a grow out tank they are about three to three and a half monthes old and they are in a temporay tank which was ment for vents but now has the vittatus in it. It is a regular ten gallon. I know this isnt big enough for adults but they are still young. I was thinking of building a 20 gallon long in the future when they mature for them to breed in but for know is a twenty long fine and how would I set it up for a breeding pair?

A 20 long would be great for a pair of P. vittatus! Use broad leaf plants like pothos, maybe wandering jew, LOTS of big leaf litter for hiding spots, a coco hut w/(or w/o) petri dish....and you should be set! Good luck

A pair of vittatus can be housed successfully in a 10 gallon, but a 20l would be a much better idea. I would make sure to provide plenty of cover for them (thick layer of leaf litter, dense plantings, etc), as well as a pond. One of the things I enjoy most about my vittatus is watching them transport tadpoles - I recently removed the tadpoles from the pond after I became concerned about overcrowding - there were 57 in there!
I would also go with a larger vivarium due to the fact that, with a water feature, you are most likely going to end up with unexpected froglets in-viv. I can typically find a dozen or so at any given time in my vittatus vivarium. With a larger vivarium, it can maintain the microfauna loads necessary for good froglet growth.

I have them in a ten right now but Its old and the pump could die any minute its like ten years old but still working I am going to put them in a 20 long soon They are not mature and I don't know if I have a sexed pair yet. Should i just keep them in the 10 gallon then once I have a sexed pair move them into the 20 Long?

As long as they are eating well and everything (I rarely see froglets eat, just keep an eye on their weight), there's nothing wrong with doing that.
