My vote is for Patricia. But I admit to being terrible at this game.

I'm sorry, but guessing morphs/locales from appearances isn't a good practice. Some morphs are hard to distinguish visibly, and it could be a locale cross, or even a hybrid. There is a lot of emphasis put on morph purity in the hobby, and we all need to be vigilant. So just enjoy it for what it is -- a very nice logo.

I couldn't resist.

Lol!

I've been staring at the mist king box and it's inspired me to get some tincs.

I have it essentially narrowed down to Patricia or yellow Sipaliwini.

I guess I always thought the MistKing Morph was a Powder Blue. But I never gave it much thought and reserve the right to feign ignorance when someone internet-correct-and-ridicules me.

And while we're here, I'd like to go on record and say I've never liked Tincs, aesthetically speaking. The bony humped back, the harshly internally rotated front limbs, that derpy face... Vote Leucomelas 2020.

Generally speaking, I'm not a huge tinc fan, but the mist king box has be wanting to pick some up. Well, that and I have a 36x18x18" build that I'm working on.

I agree with the aesthetics of tincs. I do have a couple morphs, however, just because they give me something to show off when people come over to the house. Probably a third of my frogs are hiders and it's nice not have to say "this is what you would see in this tank."

Also, I would vote for a leucomelas before some of the available options in 2020!

Ahhh I like my tinctorius. The cobalt pair is hilarious to me and the azureus are more sophisticated and cool in their actions.

Push to shove, I’d want my leucomelas before the tincs and Ranitomeya any day.

I came here to wonder why all the dismissing of tincs on the basis of appearance, and --

Wait! Leucs over Ranitomeya? What?! Those yellow and black...oafs...I don't know what to say...

De gustibus non disputandum est, I guess.

Yeah, I had azureus just to have blue frogs to show off when company was over. I still have a singleton and hes the kids favorite.

@Socratic; you have to consider boldness when choosing the poster frog for 2020, and thats why leucs beat thumbs. Otherwise, pumilio would be the obvious choice.

Luecs were my first frogs and are still one of my favorites. Love them all though.

As for the logo, I would shoot Mistking an email and settle the issue once and for all, rather than speculate.

That's quite a debate going on here

originally was inspired by a powder blue, but the logo artist couldn't get the frog right and it kept looking very weird. I remember I ended up sending him various images of cobalts and maybe a patricia and a brazilian yellow head mixed in there somewhere. I"d say it's a photoshop hybrid made by someone who has zero interest in frogs and I kept pumping him with images of frogs until I was happy I remember I had two issues, 1. he couldn't get the shape of the tinc and 2. We tweaked the pattern few times too.

I don't think you'll find that one anywhere. I had to dumb down the logo as well to make magnets and key chains to comply with the process

Thank you for the answer!

I'll just have to get my "fantastic yellow tinctorius" viewing in by staring at the box and keychain

Dendrobates tinctorius 'MistKing' - I guess if you can't find a new species or a morph you can always make one up LOL
