Default Rubber based product in a tank

Wondering if anyone knew if rubber could "leach" or be at all toxic in a tank. I know pond liners are basically made out of rubber and they are submerged 100% of the time so I'm assuming not.

I own a saltwater and pond store. We use a lot of 45 mil EPDM pond liner it is made by Firestone on the same line that makes roof liners which are NOT fish safe so...I would make sure it is safe for food storage then go from there.
