Default For anyone in Ohio or near there, great opportunity.

The fates have aligned and conspired against me yet again. I have been searching for 4 years for a deal like this to come but unfortunately it wasn't to be, seeing as how I'm 345 miles away from it.

I've always wanted to try and make a vivarium out of a fiberglass shower stall, but they were always too expensive. It'd be so easy to make a frame out of wood to conceal; the pipes and wires and attach glass and nozzles and such.

So, if anyones interested, this guy is selling about 6 of them for $15 each. Where they normally retail for $200-$300.

Tempting. I'm 5 minutes south of there but not ready to spend the time converting one. I've thought about turning one into a rain chamber before for some Phyllomedusa bicolors but I don't have the group anymore.

Dang...and I have about 20 pieces of tempered glass that are too big to fit in my car...they'd probably go together great!

I can hear it now...."cancel your parents visit.... I converted the shower in the spare bathroom into a giant viv". What a way to get two things you really want. 8)

If anyone from MD area or anyone for that matter is looking into this I have a sheet of glass for you. The glass is 72"x38" 3/16 thick. Trades welcome.

Does anyone know if some has done this already and if any info would be great. I have heard and seen pics of wine fridges and standard fridges being turned into vivs but I have not seen a shower.

The closest thing I could think of would be this guy who turned a portion of his house into a large viv. The viv is about the size of a closet and he can stand in it. Link >>http://www.poison-frogs.nl/e03.html

I would suggest you talk to some of the guys from the Terra forums. This method is very popular with the CP enthusiasts.
