Default D tinctorius ‘Robertus’ parenting question

Hi everyone,

I have a few Robertus tadpoles that appear just about ready to be put in some water. I wanted to let the parents raise these in the enclosure rather than put them in cups myself. There a couple small pools and some Bromeliads that are just large enough to hold water.

I’m worried the frogs won’t transport the tadpoles as they seem to just be ignoring them. Does parenting behavior differ among morphs? Has anyone had frog parents fail to transport hatched tadpoles before?

Thanks,
Collin

Tincs don't raise tads; they deposit them in water, but provide nothing that counts as care (e.g. feeding).

I don't keep tincs, but FWIW, my leucs didn't transport the one time I let them try.

Ok thanks for the reply. I’ve taken the loose tadpole and deposited it into a pool. The second one is still hanging in the egg jelly so I’ll give that one some more time. I’d love to see them transport a tadpole but maybe this dad isn’t feeling the transporting instinct.
