Default a good excuse?

So what's a good excuse for being too lazy to put away the vacumn cleaner when you're done in the living room?

How about you need to turn it on quickly when you knock over an entire cup of dusted ff's when you reach for the sprayer? You should have seen the swarm spreading out over my carpet

I had the same thing happen to me when I was starting a few new cultures. When I was putting somes flies from my old cultures in the new ones it didn't quite go as I was planning and a couple dozen FF got out, I had FFs crawling around my office for a few days. Now I have changed my technique a little bit, something that might work for you if one your vivarium opens at the top. Now when I am getting some FFs from one culture into another I open the vivarium top and do the pouring over it so the FFs that get out fall right into the vivarium. It's good for me and I am sure that my frogs highly agree with this technique.

I usually only have an escapee or two when pouring the ff's from the culture into my feeding cup. My problem in this case I already had about 100+ ff's in the feeding cup. I was feeding the frogs in my quarantine boxes and I sit the feeding cup down on my counter as I open each box. I thought they needed a spray of water and reached over for the spray bottle. I hit the feeding cup with the edge of my hand and when it hit the floor upside down, yikes!

I don't have a frog room and all the boxes sit on the bar between my kitchen and living room. So there was a good drop to the floor.

Hmmm, my dogs are herders, maybe I should have let them try getting the ff's back into the cup? "Way to me", "Come by", "That'll do", yay problem solved,

Yeah, I've done this once or twice myself. One time I didn't have a vacuum handy so I just started stomping the flies (concrete floor) before they wandered off.

HAHA thought i was the only one to dump flys on the floor. I had some cultures really explode, so I made new cultures. I just use rubberband and coffee filter for the tops. Well, that is definantly far from child proof. My 3 year old decided she wanted some flies to crawl on her(everytime I open the closet where the flies live that is what she says, I want 2 to crawl on me) so she opened it and proceeded to dump probably what seemed like 1000 flies on her. All I can say, is good thing the wife wasn't there, and good thing these things don't fly. I just told her I had an issue getting them in the toilet, and they must have migrated out to the living room.

I think I had flys hopping and crawling on me for a good week....

My DH would flip his lid if he ever had FF's crawling on him  He already hates them and every time they show up naturally in the garbage or on the bananas in the kitchen he says mine have escaped their cultures- no matter how many times I show him that mine don't FLY!! He still insists that I have escapees (because it couldn't be that he just hasn't taken the trash out in an age  )
