Introduction
  1. DendroBoard.com (hereinafter DB) is a private internet community, viewable by the public at large.

  2. Membership allows persons to place messages, images, text, and other communications on DB.s servers and make use of DB.s chat and posting systems.

Requirements For Registration
  1. The individual is a person, above the age of 17 with the capacity to consent to this User Agreement.

    1. Individuals between 14 and 17 years of age may be members of DB under the following conditions. As per the TITLE XVII of the CHILDREN'S INTERNET PROTECTION Act, if the individual is under the age of 18, the parents/guardians of the individual must contact DB.s owner before registration. DB will complete the necessary documentation and then complete the registration for this minor individual.

    2. Concealing ones age to avoid the above requirement will result in immediate banning.

  2. The individual does not already have an existing account with DB and/or has not received an invitation to activate any account in the past by DB.

  3. The individual has not attempted to register an account with DB.

  4. The individual has not received a Termination of Account Notice or has had an account terminated in the past for any reason.

  5. The individual has not received a Temporary Ban Notice or has had an account temporarily banned in the past for any reason.


General Norms
  1. While the administrators and moderators of this site will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message and image. Therefore each DB member must acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the owner(s), administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable for any resulting harm.

  2. DB requires each member to maintain a respectful, friendly, and civil approach to every discussion, posting, chat, image, advertisement, etc.

  3. Each DB member is strictly forbidden from posting, writing, displaying, discussing or causing to be posted, written, displayed, or discussed any abusive, obscene, vulgar, hateful, libelous, threatening, or sexually-oriented material or, further, any other material that may violate any applicable law.

  4. Members having concerns about users, persons and/or businesses should contact a board moderator or site administrator with an explanation of the situation. The internal reporting system should be used for concerns on existing posts. Concerns will be reviewed by the board administrator and moderators to determine if it is appropriate for public posting. Any statements posted without consulting the board administrator or moderators will be removed.

  5. Each registrant is allowed only one active DB account. No duplicate accounts or posting under different screen-names is permitted.

  6. Posting for another member or non-member, or posing as, or using someone else's account to post is prohibited.

  7. DB will not allow excessive use of its system, including excessive posting, placement of large files on DB.s servers or any other server utilized by DB, including excessive messaging, spamming, flooding, denial of service attacks, etc.

  8. All information placed at any time on DB.s servers or any other server utilized by DB is property of DB, and may be utilized, searched, viewed, edited, modified, displayed, deleted, etc. in any fashion.

  9. Members may only access information intentionally provided by DB and may not use cracks, coding flaws, or other tools to mine or gain unauthorized access to protected information.

  10. DB will not release, sell, or trade any information submitted through the registration system, except selected usernames, to any third party, unless required to do so by law or for transfer to a person or organization during a full or partial acquisition.

  11. The IP address(es) and further computer identification, routing, locality, and service provider information of each member is recorded and stored to aid in enforcing this User Agreement.

  12. Each member must agree to DB.s use of cookies to store information on their local computer.

  13. Harassment of DB administrators, moderators, owner(s), or other members is strictly forbidden. In those cases where members have questions about moderation of a particular topic, they should take up their concerns privately with the appropriate moderator and/or dendroboard administrator/owner. Public posts questioning said action(s) are restricted.


Registration
  1. To become a member of DB, each prospective member must request an account through the forum.s registration system, accessed at REGISTER DB will process the submitter.s membership application and, proving that the information is complete and all requirements for registration are satisfied, will forward an invitation to activate the account requested. This invitation may be revoked at any time for any reason listed below, above, or for any reason, whether stated or unstated, by DB.s owner(s).

  2. Submission of the registration form represents the prospective member.s agree to the terms of this User Agreement, and any subsequent changes, at the point those changes are made and notice is posted within the Community Message forum, available at Community Messages


Forum Use
  1. Members are free to post in any visible, unlocked, and moderated forum made available, so long as those posts do not violate any other portion of this User Agreement.

  2. The topic and text of each parent and child post should generally conform to the description of the respective forum where it is posted. Moderators will, may, and can move, edit, delete, or otherwise modify irrelevant posts. Excessive posting of irrelevant posts will lead to referral to the below penalties.

  3. Members should not .hijack. or change the topic of a parent post. Excessive .hijacking. of posts will lead to referral to the below penalties.

  4. Members are not allowed to promote competing forums anywhere on DB. This includes in links, signatures, profiles, PMs, posts.

  5. Forums, topics, posts, images, and other data may be modified in any fashion by DB moderators, administrators, and owner(s).

  6. Avatars larger than 80px x 80px are not permitted anyone using a avatar larger will be asked to remove or modify it.

  7. Signatures - pictures, animated gifs, enlarged text, ads, and for sale items are not permitted.

Classifieds & Trading Post
  1. Each DB member must acknowledge that all items placed within the Classifieds and Trading Post forums are not attributable to DB, its moderators, administrators, or owners. DB does not offer any warrantee or guarantee on listed items. Anyone utilizing the DB servers to sell, offer, accept, trade, or purchase any item or service agrees to hold DB, its moderators, administrators, and owners harmless should any harm result from any transaction. DB is not involved in the actual transaction between buyers and sellers. As a result, DB has no control over the quality, safety or legality of the items advertised, the truth or accuracy of the listings, the ability of sellers to sell items or the ability of buyers to buy items. DB cannot ensure that a buyer or seller will actually complete a transaction.

  2. Classified items should be placed in the related section. We do not permit ads for HOT animals.

  3. DB may remove any item from the Classifieds and/or Trading Post forums at any time for any reason.

  4. The DB classifieds area is for the occasional personal sale of items you have AND for our SUPPORTING Vendors. The DB team will remove any other posts/threads made by users who don't meet this criteria. Repeated breaking of this rule will result in temporary or permanent suspension of your account.

  5. Prices are required for items in ads.

  6. Informational classifieds are permitted in the "Regional Group & Event Announcements" section as long as they are posted in relation to a meeting or show. Classifieds posted as standalone threads or posted in a unrelated thread in this section will be removed.

  7. Feedback is only permitted in the vendor feedback section and is not permitted in ads or signatures.

  8. Replies to ads are only allowed for questions and answers concerning the products in the ad, and requests for addditional information. All other comments will be removed.

  9. Marketplace sections are limited to users with at least 25 posts and who have met the undisclosed wait period.

Vendor Feedback
  1. Vendor feedback is only permitted within the Vendor Feedback forum.

  2. All feedback threads/posts will be reviewed by the moderation staff.

  3. New threads can only be created for vendors without a thread already.

  4. Posts must include a link to the related classified ad.

  5. Any post that are not factual based will be removed without notice.

  6. If a negative post is approved 1 single response will be allowed. Additionally attempts must be made to work with the vendor directly prior to posting.

  7. Posts are not permitted by parties unrelated to a transaction.

  8. This section is only viewable to members of this site.

  9. The purpose of this section is not to solve or debate the issues, it is to express feedback on respective sales and vendors.

  10. Requests for information, from and about vendors is permitted in the Vendor Info and Questions section only. These requests must state that all replies be handled privately(PM, email). NO public replies are allowed.
    Examples of posts that are permitted in the Vendor Info and Question section...
    • Does anyone know how to contact so and so?
    • If you have had a deal with so and so please contact me privately.
    • Has anyone heard from so and so?

Chat Use
  1. While the administrators and moderators of DB will occasionally moderate discussions, the DB chat room will not be controlled like a database forum. Therefore each member.s use of the chat room acknowledges that statements presented in the DB chat room forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the owner(s), administrators, moderators or webmaster and hence will not be held liable for any resulting harm.


Gallery Use
  1. Members are free to post a gallery of images in the DB Gallery, so long as those pictures do not violate any other portion of this User Agreement and the member.s gallery.s size does not exceed the allocated disk space.

  2. Pictures posted to the gallery should be germane to the mission of this forum. Pictures may be removed at the discretion of the site administration for any reason.


Intellectual Property Infringement
  1. DB strictly forbids each member from posting, requesting or offering for sale any item, product, material, or service that infringes or potentially infringes upon another.s copyright, trademark, or patent, including but not limited to articles, writings, images, and artwork. Due to the large amount of traffic DB encounters, checking the sources of each posted text, image, and item for sale is virtually impossible. If you are aware of any infringing work or conduct that is posted on any section of DB, including but not limited to the forums or galleries, please immediately report this to DB.s owner(s).


  2. DB does NOT own any images and/or content posted on DB. We do however reserve the right to remove it and/or leave it on once it is posted on our site/servers.



Dispute Resolution
  1. DB reserves the right to modify, amend, and change this User Agreement in any fashion at any time, without notice.

  2. Should disputes arise, the most current version of DB.s User Agreement applies, at the time DB.s owner(s) become aware of the dispute.

  3. All dispute resolution will be handled privately via PM or e-mail.


Banning / Termination of Account
  1. Banning and/or termination of account once communicated to the email address, whether valid or invalid, provided by the member in question, is effective immediately and disables the member.s account for the specified time or permanently deletes this account.

  2. The banned / terminated member will no longer have access to the privileges of members in good status and will not have access to or any right to access of any stored information on DB.s server, including any information placed by or sent to the member in question.

  3. The banned / terminated member does not have a right to have their information stored, maintained, deleted, or modified in any fashion during or after the application of this penalty.

  4. DB may implement a series of penalties for any member.s deviation of this User Agreement. Each infraction will be determined on a case by case basis by the administrators/owners and Moderators. These actions may include written warnings, temporary account bans, removed access to the private messaging system, and in certain situations account termination. Any and all spammers will be removed and permanently banned without notice.

  5. Application of the preceding penalties will not always be implemented in steps. A member.s first Major Infraction may lead to immediate account termination, depending on its gravity and the member.s reaction to the following process. The application of these penalties is the sole decision of DB.s owner(s) and cannot be challenged or appealed.

  6. When a member commits a Major, Moderate, Semi-Minor, Minor, or Slight Infraction and receives a penalty, the infracting member may contact DB.s owner(s) and request the chance to rectify the harm cause by their actions and post an apology. This option may be denied and is contingent on the member.s completion of the steps laid out by DB.s owner(s). This option will reduce the applied penalties by an amount determined on a case-by-case basis, established by DB.s owners.


Conclusion
  1. DB is a volunteer based initiative, dedicated to building a friendly community and an academic resource for dart frog enthusiasts. The actionable conduct described within this User Agreement is merely illustrative. Any conduct that prevents DB from continuing with this mission will place one.s membership in question. If you have a question whether posts, actions, or other conduct is acceptable on this site, please contact DB administrators and we will happily assist and direct you.

By completing the registration form, logging in, and continuing use of DendroBoard.com I certify that I understand and agree to the above terms, meet each of its requirements, am over the age of 17, and will comply with these terms throughout my membership. If you have any questions about these terms or concerns that you cannot conform to their requirements, please refrain from registration and immediately contact DB.s owners at [email protected].
