Default E. tricolor "Cielito"

Anyone getting these guys from WIKIRI in the upcoming fall shipments? And who all is currently working with this morph? From my searching, I can only seem to find one mention of them on the entire board. Surely more people are keeping this morph, right?

We should attempt to have a good list of those with this morph after the next shipments so we can better establish this frog in the hobby. I missed out on the September shipment, but I've got four in my name for the November import if WIKIRI can provide them.

Thoughts?

I created this thread - http://www.dendroboard.com/forum/epi...to-wikiri.html - to see if others were getting them, but so far the only other member who has responded is tvittatus (a Canadian member, who has also posted photos).

I get the impression that not many of this locale have been imported yet - it sounds like they have only been imported once so far, which was earlier this spring. Perhaps those who have acquired them are just not active on this board?

I have reserved three frogs for the September shipment.

Yeah, yours was the only thread I could find that even mentions them on the entire site. Apparently the September shipment sold out overnight when WIKIRI posted a picture of them on Facebook. I'm hoping more people on DB will be getting them, as I know there are at least a few dedicated Epipedobates keepers on here.

I was lucky enough to get 4 of them in March. The adults are doing great so far, and haven't had any problems. I am currently up to 10 froglets and 6 tads.

The only surprises so far has been their shyness and size of froglets. I rarely see them for long, unlike my tricolor "Rio" group which is always visible. Froglets are small, springtails will be needed. I was better prepared for the Cielito froglets, but my first Rio froglets shocked me with their size.

There hasn't been any talk of them on the Canadian dart frog forum.

Based on the recent events near the WIKIRI facilities, I think it's now even more important that we establish a good number of these guys in the hobby from these shipments. We might not have the chance to get more in for a long time if this volcano business is as bad as predicted. I'm even considering tacking a few "Rio" onto my order to be safe.

I was not aware that these were available this year. Last summer I was on the list but wasn't able to receive them. I did however get a group of the Rio's and the Ankas, which are also really nice looking frogs. Everything I've received from Wikiri so far has been great.

When does Understory plan on shipping this year for Wikiri?

There was a shipment scheduled for some time in September, but this is being pushed up because their facilities are being evacuated due to the risk that they may be destroyed from a volcanic eruption. Because of this, they are also trying to sell as much of their remaining inventory as possible, so I think they are still taking orders for that shipment. The Cielito are not on the most updated list they posted.

From talking to Indoor Ecosystems, there will be a for sure September shipment, possibly two if they can get enough orders in. The November shipment will also still be coming in, provided the airports don't close, as they have moved these froglets to a safe location.

As of earlier today, it sounded like there may still be a few Cielito for the November shipment, all sold out for September though.

I am looking forward to seeing pics of the new Cielitos, when they arrive. In the meantime I was lucky to get a crappy pic of my favourite frog.
