Default Vendor feedback allowed?

I'm seeing more and more posts containing vendor feedback. Is it now permitted?

I guess that's still a 'no'. Didn't know if I missed something or not.

That's the way I read it but yeah . . . you aren't the first one to notice.

It seems like some get away with it, while others (myself included) get infractions.

In general, feedback that can be related to a specific "For Sale" ad/link, is permitted only through the iTrader system. Other vendor related comments, as part of a reply within a thread, are allowed, provided they're neutral and for informational purposes only. They can't be an endorsement, positive or negative. It's a fine line at times.

The Mods are reviewing some of these that have crossed the line and the posts willl likely be moved/edited shortly.

I think it's just getting too much for the mods to try and keep up with.

I haven't seen anybody really try to abuse it, but I have heard of a few getting "infractions" for what they felt were innocent comments.

Its tough as a simple comments normally grows into a whole thread or thread hijack on the topic. Especially if it is of a questionable nature.

In general we prefer to keep the vendor comments to the itrader system at this time. If you need to request information on a vendor or etc, simply ask that people respond via PM or email. This saves the thread from getting out of hand and many times get you the information you need.

Talking Re: Vendor feedback allowed?

I'm just curious if I approached my vendor issues within lines of the dendroboard law!

This board has been irreplaceable in terms of information...I wouldn't want to break the fine print.

I was rather annoyed when I got an infraction for what I thought was a completely harmless comment in a thread that I had started in the first place. I think it's an abuse of power for a mod to give an infraction like that to someone new to the forum without giving any sort of warning first. I'm actually STILL annoyed about it.

We have recognized this, and made adjustments (this week) where we can now issue warnings prior to infractions.
