Default image errors

First of all, This doesn't appear to have anything to do with the photobucket thing.

I'm seeing what I THINK are supposed to be thumbnail images, but they just show as links. When clicking on the link, I get an error. The error varies for different browsers. Take for example, ngeo626's post "Chazuta Trio $100". He has links to three images in his post, but I don't see them as thumbnails, but as links. When clicking on the first link, which points HERE, I get an error. Firefox says this:
The image "link to image" cannot be displayed becauuse it contains errors.
IE gives an even less useful little tiny black box with an X in it.

the Brave browser returns this:
The HTTP response body transferred fewer bytes than were advertised by the Content-Length header when the connection is closed.

Any idea what could be causing this? I can go to the gallery and see images there just fine.

Thanks,
dow

Lee, That's weird. I've tested with:
Firefox v. 56.0
IE v. 1131176310586.0
Brave v. 0.17.19
Chrome, v. 61.0.3163.100 (Official Build) (64 bit)
No plugins in Brave, Chrome or IE, and only two in Firefox, Shockwave (set to ask before executing) and Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc. (set to always run).

The chrome test reports
This page isn’t working

Dendroboard.com unexpectedly closed the connection.
ERR_CONTENT_LENGTH_MISMATCH
So you can add that to the messages I got from the other browsers.

Hello there,

This is very strange because I got the same results as Lee did.
Did you try deleting your caches and cookies before doing so?
I tested this on chrome.
Can you provide us with some screenshots?

Best regards,

Edward

Now this is weird. I flushed my internet cache, and reloaded this thread page. Lee's email with his screenshot showed up just fine, while Edward's post shows only a link in the "attached thumbnails" section.

Double-weird. When I did a preview of this post, I still saw only the text of the thumbnails, and when I clicked on the first one, which should have showed a pic of Lee's post, I got an error (third attached thumbnail, if you can see or follow the link.

It looks like inline images display fine, but the attached thumbnails (and their links) don't.

Here's a further test. I took this picture years ago and uploaded it to flickr. As an imbedded image, it shows up just fine.

I'm going to run a tool to try and rebuild attachment information. Once it's done I'll let you know

Hi guys,

Has anyone noticed any improvement since Kevin ran these rebuilds? Are we all able to view images normally again?

Iím still having this same issue. The message says ĎSafari cannot open the page because the network connection was lostí. Is there something I can do here, it doesnít seem like everyone is experiencing this? Using an IPad with up to date software. Thank you

I initially started this post on Monday, but forgot to submit it, so here it is now.

Sorry not to have responded sooner. Busy weekend. I'm seeing the images on one computer, but ot on another. My initial thought was that it might be a firewall issue, however, nothing else seems to show the same weirdness. As mentioned above, I can see inline images just fine, but thumbnail images show as links, and the links, when clicked, invariably fail with a message like the third thumbnail (which I can't see) in post #6.

If others are not having this problem, then I have no choice than to accept that something is screwed up at my end. To further strengthen this conclusion, I see that the thumbnails show up fine on my phone. Regardless, it's really annoying.

Thanks for the offer of help.

The thumbnails on mine don’t say “image error”, it just shows the name of the picture (I guess?) Then when you click on a thumbnail, it opens a new tab and then the “...network connection lost...” message. Also, yes, the IPad is up-to-date.
