Default Dendroboard not responding

Everytime a page loads on DB, I get the IE message that Dendroboard is not responding due to a long running script. Has anyone else been having this problem. It takes 30 seconds for each page to load. A little research indicates this might be because of Vertical scope and their advertising. I get the same message with multiple computers. Anyone else?

OK, so its not my pc. I was pulling my hair out tryign to find the problem with my browser. Its all the ads that Vertical scope has loaded, and most likely an error in the scripting for those ads then. I noticed the same exact problem on another vertical scope auto forum page last night. But that is the only 2 pages I am having a problem with. I wonder if contacting Yungster would do anything?

My Techie friend says it also could likely be the facebook plugins on each page. I dunno , those have always been there unless somethign has been changed.

I don't have it on the cumputer I'm currently using, a laptop I occasionally use, or an Ipad mini (without Tapatalk). Hmmmmmmmmm... If it helps, the software on the computers are exclusively Windows, except for the Ipad, that is Apple tech (Duh).

This should be moved to the Feedback and Question forum, and yes it`s happening to me also. Takes about 30 seconds to open a page or post a response.

Maybe we can get a mod who`s not only here to sell something or log in every 3 months to look into it, and before I get myself into trouble again I don`t mean all mods. C`mon, you know who you are and who you are not.

**EDIT. yea, they`re going love me for that one.

This is now happening to me too. The page hangs for about 1 second and you cant scroll down or anything till the page fully loads. IE 10, win 7 x64

However I remember this happening once before at a forum called notebookreview.com there were a lot of advertisements. And it was very annoying there because the hanging would often cause you to accidentally click on an ad.

Anyhow I thought the whole point of bringing vertical scope in was because they were more experienced in this stuff and simple things like the forum hanging or being poorly coded would not happen because they would have experience and engineers that run hundreds of forums and this sort of thing would be trivial, as well as backups and security.

The whole point of Vertical Scope, at least from THEIR point of view ...

Is to maximize add space (and thus income).

That's it. That's all they care about.

I use firefox and it's native tool to block ads. Some still get through, but my pages load faster. where most see ads, I just see a blank area. I don't get any on my phone/tablet. This is also done with browser settings. the only downside I have found is that if you wan't to go to the site the ad is based on, you must re-enable it in browser settings

Whatever script is running is not only a huge memory hog it keeps running in the background after I close this down. I have to go in an manually stop the script.

It reloads for any page I go on here, making this website pretty much unusable.

I like ads. I am one of those that click on them and do business with sponsors, but if I have to block them to get to content I will.

If I am reading this right, those having issues are running Internet Explorer?

If so, there is your answer.

I get the error when on IE. Firefox works just fine.

When on IE, I load up a DB page...it locks up...then get this message:

I have to hit YES and then I can browse the page. I typically just use Firefox anywho, but still very....very annoying.

Like I said, IE.

I run into problems in reverse sometimes for work docs. FF cant run it only IE, however usually IE is the problem. Most sites are built on platforms that IE cannot figure out. If you cant tell I am not a fan of IE LOL

Ok, this really sucks. My blood pressure jumps about 5 points every time I have to wait about 30 seconds to open a damn page here. Can any of the "suits" at least respond..I promise I`ll buy a plant or something.

I think it`s time for the inmates to run the asylum.

Over 50% of the world uses IE most people aren't going to open multiple browsers just because of a few incompetent coders who screw up a web site on this browser or that one. I attend lots of forums and websites and none of them lag in IE or have problems with any browsers, I regularly use FF, chrome and IE 9 or 10. This one does, and it does so recently should be plenty easy enough to just disable the script, fire the coder and hire one who knows what he's doing, don't worry its just business as usual.

Anyhow here is a work around for those that want it.

Settings > Internet Options > Security > Restricted Sites > Sites

Add dendroboard.com here and press OK or whatever then restart IE and no more lag. Of course some things on the website are probably going to break.

I am using Internet Explorer 10, and was waiting about 20 seconds for every Dendroboard page to unfreeze. After I changed the IE security settings from "medium high" to "high" (under Tools, Internet Options, Security), the pages now respond in a snap.

Actually, once I got this setting set right (took a few times), it is working. There is stuff that gets blocked, so its a temporary fix for now.

Using Chrome with Adblock plus installed. Free add on, works like a charm, and no issues on Dendroboard at all.

Yes, or Firefox with adblock plus. No slow downs for me and no ads. However, blocking ads probably goes against the whole purpose of the board buy out. So I'd keep it close to the vest

Hello, Alan here.

The issue seems to be better now. I've made an adjustment to the way ads are loaded. Let me know if there are any more problems regarding this.

Thanks.
