Default Tricked by a cricket

So, the other night, I couldn't sleep. My wonderful hubby was all cuddly, and I can't sleep while being cuddled, and the baby was up about 82 times that night, or at least it felt like it.

About 4:30 am or so, I hear a chirping from the area of the viv. Yes, the froggie babies are in the bedroom. I was afraid to move, lest I scare them from calling. It was so peaceful, so melodic. I was thrilled!!!!!! I enjoyed the call of the D. auratus and let it lull me back to sleep. Is there a blissful smiley for this?????

Then, I went on this forum and became heartbroken! My froglets are only a month out of the water. It couldn't have been them. Despite playing's recording of the calls, and I SWEAR it was exactly like the #2 track, and wishing and hoping, they still are only a month out of water, so it couldn't have been them.

We have crickets for our Fire Bellied Toad. Never imagined they'd make it to winged stage, but one must have, after getting out. I feel so betrayed!!!!!

LOL, I've gotten over it, and it makes me anticipate the first real calls that much more. I have the video camera with night shot ready for the first time I am awake for the real call. Even if I can't find the guy who's calling, I'll get audio from it!!!

we have a few tanks that are drained with small 1/4" bulkheads and sometimes they will slowly release the water to the drain while making this soft 3-4 second gurgling sound similar to a tinc or auratus call. That drove me crazy for about a month until I figure out that it wasn't eve a frog making the noise!
