Default First tadpole transport

WOOOOOHOOOOO!

I came home today and to my surprise, I saw a little tad on our male intermedius' back. I can't even find where they laid the eggs or if there are any more tads. They are pretty sneaky. There is a big pond in the viv and I filled the film cups with water since they don't seem to want to lay eggs in them. The male and one of the females were sitting on one of the film cups before I filled it with water. I think they were scoping out possible deposition sites. I hope there are more but I am perfectly happy with this one little guy/gal.

I will try to take some pics later.

This is the brom axil that he dropped the tad in. Now I just have to keep it full of water. I can't wait to see this little guy walk out of the water.

Very cool! You really had a tiny, short window of opportunity to see that! Keep the parents well fed, and hopefully you will get a baby or 2.

Be careful about filling film cannisters with water. I've heard stories of frogs drowning.

The ones that I have in this tank are drilled on the side for the suction cup. So, they are only filled up to the hole. I have film cups in my imitator tank and that is where they deposit their tads. I have acutally seen the male down in the water calling to mom to come feed the tads. I think that the intermedius are going to use the broms though. They only used to film cups for sleeping in so far that I have seen. I will probably only leave one full of water and empty the others so they can have there sleeping quarters back.
