Calling..

This might be a dumb question, but here goes..

I just baugt a new leucomelas, i had two as it was and i suspected them both to be males. The new was supposed to be a female, but within seconds of getting into the terrarium with the two others, the new frog started calling. It was a bit different from the calling i have heard earlier though, deeper and not that loud. So my question is, do the female frogs call? I would think not, but I just have to ask..

Ps: pardon my english. I`m Norwegian ;)

Female leucomelas do not call. Young leucomelas though have a call that sounds more tentative than adults. You'll hear them 'practicing' to get it right.

Leucomelas are notoriously difficult to sex accurately although I believe that there are a few hobbyists who have a bit more luck with sexing them than most.
