Default Quiet Frogs?

Hi everyone, I've been trying to decide what species of frog would work best for me. I have a 20 gallon that I will be planting tomorrow so not a huge tank but hopefully enough for a pair or trio. I was thinking of doing Tincs as I read they are more quiet, as well as easy to care for. Any other suggestions?

I have azureus and powder blue tincs and I never hear them calling. I definitely wouldn't suggest d. leucomales or r. ventrimaculatus. I can hear them in the next room. Good luck with the decision!

Yep, go with tincs. They've got a great range of colors, a few different sizes (but nothing so small that it's hard to feed), and they're quiet.

Gee, my terribilis are pretty quiet... Just kidding! Both tincs and auratus are pretty quiet in my opinion, along with galacts. In general, I would stay away from most thumbnails, leucs, and pums.

Not to hijack this thread, but do people really find the leucomela call annoying or bothersome? We are currently on the fence (leuc v. azureus). I was leaning toward leuc's because I hear they are quite bold and a great beginner frog. Also, the issue with aggression in groups (we'd be getting 3) of azureus has me leaning more toward leuc's.

Thoughts?

Honestly, it's a tiny little frog singing. How annoying can it be? I love when my leucomelas calls...

Yes Leucs can be annoying, when you have them calling at 6:30 in the morning on a saturday in the next room and they wake you up. I guess it really depends on what you find annoying and what you dont. If you have a wife and she isnt into them as you are she might find them annoying, mine has said she is going to get tweezers and strangle the frog

It would be annoying in a bedroom, or near the bedroom, if you don't get up at dawn. Otherwise, people say leucs are "loud", but it's a relative term. You cant go wrong with azureus, however, and if they are raised together, agression is often less of an issue, often not an issue at all.....
