Default Tank Levels of Frogs?

I hav a 29 gal bow front tank. Its high & wide.
My ques? is which frogs stay on the High level of the tank.

2nd, I know were not suppose to mix frogs in tanks. But is there a possiblilty that frogs won't cross if they stay on the top level & other frogs stay on the bottom?

If, Possible which frogs work the best, territory wise?

Azeurus, I heard stay on the bottom. Can add another species for the top level?

Thank you,
Ski01

never a good idea to mix species. to many problems...hybrids, fighting, etc. there are many posts about this on here. do a search.

certain frogs tend to climb more than others but this does not mean you wont see an azureus up higher and otherwise for a frog that tends to stay higher. not to mention a 29 gallon isn't that big when considering mixing species.

i wouldnt mix species in a 29, just not enough room to even consider it reguardless of the hybrid issue.

my lil azureus do quite a bit of climbing. i ever know where im going to find my tincs, they are just as likely to be hanging out on the orchids at the top of my tank as sitting on the rocks beside their lil pond

I've kept (4) juvenile tinc cobalts in a 29. After gaining some good size, it would seem like it's time to split them up into pairs in their own 20 gal.
As far as using vertical space... some of my tincs and azureus sleep close to the top of the tank, while some stay on the ground. I suppose it varies on your frog's personality.
But if you want to take advantage of the entire space, and get away with more than just 2, try getting some leucomelas.

29 galloons is not a large tank. It comes nowhere near the natural range of a frog.

well if your absolutely intent on mixing, look into some of the thumbnails...they genearlly claim the top of the cage and not much chance of hybrids....i think saurian has a lil info on mixing thumbs and other frogs, and if you look around you should be able to find which thumbs mix ok with terrestrial species....pumilo probably arent a good idea to mix with though.

If you want frogs that will use the entire area, a 29 would be perfect for a group of leucs or auratus. They would be all over the tank.

Mixing in a 29 is not a good idea, though. Not nearly enough space.
