Default Is this space too big

I just fabricated this vent for my tank to keep moisture off the front glass and i was wondering if the space is too big. I have patricia tinc froglets. The glass cannot move and i thought that i would note that it is away from any walls. Let me know what you think

Nate

ps- scale size is a 10gallon tank

looks pretty big to me. i've read about frogs squeezing through holes less than half their size. i'm not sure if patricias are climbers or not though. even if not, what about the fruit flies?

I'd say yes, it's too big. Froglets can squeeze out of amazingly small spaces, and you will have problems with fruit flies escaping.

i would say just put some screening/mesh over it. how big are the holes by the way.
about the comment on the "food" getting out. what if he feeds crickets or the flys that stay on the ground, apterous i think they are called.

A bead of silicone would probably solve that. If the vent will be lifted with the lid, I'd recommend a bead of silicone plus a few braces of glass strips siliconed in place.
