Default Bad News - Escape...

So I setup a 10g for the smaller of my 3 sips in the hopes of bulking him up some. This had been working fine for a few months. But when I went to feed him yesterday, low and behold there's no frog in the 10g. I usually leave the glass cracked just barely enough to allow some ventilation. I didn't think there was any way any of my frogs would be able to squeeze out as it was just barely cracked, but apparently he did.

I spent all day yesterday and some of this morning taking my room apart and searching the surrounding areas of my house - all to no avail. I've looked everywhere, multiple times. I feel terrible. I'll be building screens to fit in the tanks to make sure this doesn't happen again, but this sure sucks.

Did you take the tank apart? It may just be hiding. Cracking the glass even slightly is a bad idea (obviously).

Yes I took it apart, he's definately out. Hard way to learn a lesson... I've been searching straight through now, still have yet to find him.

i just lost a auratus the same way, except i have absolutely no idea how he got out as i didn't have the glass cracked and the other 4 frogs in the tank did not escape. sometimes they can just be crafty little devils and up and dissappear. everyone experiences escapes and one point or another.

Sorry to hear of the escape. It may be too late, but put a couple small containers of water around, the frog will seek water if it stilll can.
