Question 12 x 12 x 18 Leucs?

I'm looking at some leucomelas, and found a great deal for three of them. One male, two females. Would a 12 x 12 x 18 be too small for them? What if there is lots of hiding places?

Thanks,

Chris

I would say it is too small....it may even be too small for a pair even. Leucs can get fairly large (around 1.5" when mature). For a reference, I have 3 in a 26g bow front with a full BG and wouldn't want any more in there. As far as Leucs, they are a great frog to own! Very active and bold for me.

Can you post any pictures of the viv? Seeing the layout and "lots of hiding places" can help in deciding if it will be over crowded or not.

Id like to hear what other people have to say on this as well. Hope that helps! Good Luck!

I would say the enclosure is too small for 3. If they were froglets it would suffice for a little while, but not 3 mature frogs. If it were me, I would aim for something closer to a 40 gal breeder as a minimum. Again, that is what I would feel comfortable with.

Here are some pictures I think it isn't enough room, but maybe some pointers?

I would personally get a viv that's 20+ gallons for a trio of leucs. And make sure it has both height and length to the viv. I feel like a 20High would be pretty solid if designed well. A pair of thumbnails would probably be best for 12x12x18.

I used to have a pair of Tinctorius Cobalts in there and they WERE doing fine
but now its empty. I don't really want thumbnails (as cool as they are) Just really looking for something new.
