Oophaga selecting mates due to color
During many readings about Oophaga, it is known that they have the rods and cones in their eyes needed to see color, which is how they choose mates of the same morph for breeding;
This brings into question the recent Rio Branco Pumilios. How is the population so diverse if only like colors will breed with one another? Is that the reason they have remained such a diverse population?
Lots of Ranitomeya and Pumilio!!
