That sounds like a good candidate! Thanks for the tip. It's off in its own obscure family, so it fits the bill as botanically interesting. It's also funny for being a monocot that grows like a vine. It looks as though Lapageria is related to Smilax, which are also pretty interesting. I ordered some S. bona-nox seeds the other night, although I also read they are difficult to sprout. The foliage of this plant sometimes shows a unique mottling pattern...
