I was thinking it would be too much, my 2x65w seems to throw a good amount of light and doesn't get very warm under the lights, it's sitting on a 55g right now for a sort of grow out tank until I get my aquarium worked out.

Whichever light I end up using (most likely the 2x65w) it won't be resting on the top of the tank either, I was planning on suspending it between the tank and shelf which will help with heat a little but too.
I certainly do not want to cook any frogs (or any inhabitants...)
