Default Tropical Moss Mix Available

Click the image to open in full size.

This moss mix is produced by Dusk Tropic, the makers of EpiWeb. Tropical moss mix consist of 60% Sphagnum moss and 40% tropic mosses (south american) that is ground together. The Sphagnum moss acts as a medium for the other mosses to establish in. It also hold everything together as it becomes a kind of a felt when mixed fine. Also added are seeds of Peperomias, Gesneriads, Begonias and several fern spores to the mix. Its also common that other seeds and spores awake from the tropic moss in the mix. The dried moss mix should be mixed with water and spread onto the growing surface. Mosses must be kept moist, particularly when first germinating.

50g $12.99
300g $72.99

I'm assuming it would work on a GS/silicone background.

I second the above questions
I'm starting two new tanks and this seems like a good idea

How much does the 50 cover and I'm assuming it works on gs?

Hey guys

I already ordered some. I believe on another post they said after mixed with water it was enough for .5 square meters...i figured this is about enough to cover an area of 30"x30" more or less Im sure I can make it stretch if i don't have enough. And it should be applicable to almost any surface as you just mix with water and apply it. anyway hope that helps!

Thanks for the info chris =)
Another question (I'm always full of em haha) how long does it usually take for it to start showing growth? The photos have a 3 month difference but also show substantial growth, I guess I'm asking how long id hav to wait before I kno its growing (the curse of being a teenager, impatience)
Haha, thanks

Last time I checked November was two months before January. Just kidding of course. Seriously though it is two months of growth unless I am missing something. Anyway this stuff looks promising and I would also be interested in knowing how much the 50 size would cover. If you look at the first pic it looks like it is spread pretty thin.

Thanks dendrobates, I now look like the farmer that I am
Haha I couldn't remember the exact dates (like if it was 2 or 3 months) and I'm on the internet on my phone, and didn't want to go back and...(laziness)

But thanks for the correction
Haha

Hey guys....

There is alot we still don't know about this product including the amount needed to cover an area, which I believe will be dependent on what your substrate is.

There is an ongoing post about the moss and Epiweb in the Parts and Construction forum here that addresses many of these questions so we may want to try and consolidate this conversation there:

New EpiWeb Drip Walls (combined order?)

Thanks!
