Man Belem looks terrible in that picture. There's like nothing left. I read that the deforestation rates had reached its lowest rate in decades on Mongabay and quite literally developed a big ol' grin while I read the article.

Sigh, the government needs to not only implement action to decrease deforestation, put they need to make action to RESTORE the forest that has been lost.

The Amazon isn't even the region that is most at risk. The Mata Atlantica (Atlantic Forest) --which has ecoregions such as tropical rainforests, dry forests, savannahs, and mangroves-- is almost gone:

Indeed. As deforestation decreases, reforestation must increase.
