Default One-eyed Variabilis

Thought I'd share this one with you all- pretty interesting as it not only lacks the eye, but also the supraorbital ridge.

Wasn't the first thing that popped into my head... I must be spending too much time on Reddit.

bad sign of genetic mutation, i would keep an eye on the rest of the tads coming out and hope that they dont develop abnormalities

Meh... I wouldn't stress too much about a genetic problem til you start seeing it in several froglets. For now, I'd take him for what he is.. "special"

This frog was from me. It is from a group of INIBICO variablis I got a couple years ago from George Gazonas. Haven't had any other issues with these. Interestingly, this is the fourth one-eyed frog I have seen in the last couple months and I am not sure it is a common genetic mutation. A veradero from Richard and 2 azureus I saw at a friend's place. In the case of the azureus, it was the first 2 in a couple hundred froglets. I think with the veradero, Richard has had many more offspring without problems.
