I wrote a blog about how I feel about this. Check it out! Maybe some of you guys have had something similar happen.

I'm happy to read things on the forum, but I choose not to go sifting through blogs. All I'll say is, I got my benedicta in the first shipment UE sent out... they've exceded every expectation I had for them. I would've paid 600 per frog and it still would have been worth it.

I can almost always spot all three if not at least two. Not sure why they get such a bad rap for being shy...I see them more than just about any other frog I have. For the most part they don't even mind me shoving a camera into their face. I am definatly glad that I made the investment in them. ...now if I could just get my toddler to stop running up to the tank and screaming at them I might actually get another clutch of eggs.

Now I see all 6 almost every morning. This bigger and taller tank has made a huge difference in their behavior. Additionally, I am also re-culturing the fruit flies that grew wings and making them exclusively for my Benedictas. They seem to enjoy catching them in mid air. I know I enjoy watching them eat.

Frogs are only worth what people are willing to pay for them. These are a high demand frog right now so the price is high. Don't break the family budget to buy expensive frogs...but if you can afford them and want them then get them. Don't be concerned what other people think. Be happy with your frogs. They are really cool frogs...enjoy them.

Thats the beauty about this hobby though. You learn and progress as time goes by. You have just self taught yourself something new and maybe somewhat helpful to the next guy who buys benedictas....try changing up housing and eventually you will get it right which it seems like you did. I too grew a bit frustrated with some of my obligates not wanting to show their faces to me and never wanting to get active breeding....up until the idea hit ne that they might not be in their desirable habitat therefore changing it up....then as we both know, All of my frogs are breeding like rabbits.....wait till your benedictas give ya your first froglets and people come knocking on your dendroboard door asking for some.....youre gonna wish you jad paid $800 each.

Thanks Cairo...that was pretty much the moral of my blog. If you do spend quite a bit of money on a particular frog or just have a frog that is a bit of a challenge and things aren't panning out exactly how you hoped...DON'T GIVE UP! You never know how your efforts may surprise you.

They will surely level out around 125-150 each in time like other fants and the retics. Its the newness of them that holds the price, even with demand they are being sold for as little as $200 each now. If you want them get them but to put is it worth it in the eader means your thinking investment and this is where people differ. I would say yes they are worth it but you wont be able to sell them for what you paid for them. Keep what you like, breed what you keep and just make sure they go to those who can handle them.
