I'm no expert...but that sure as heck doesn't look like any kind of moss I've ever seen...looks like some sort of contaminant in whatever package you received...like some sort of grass...moss doesn't usually have a "blade"...let it grow a little and see what happens!! As long as it isn't in a viv...that is....

I am by no means a plant expert, but I think Judy has a very valid point about the "blade"; mosses usually have all sorts of little bulbs branching off (sorry I don't know terminology, still learning my plants..)

That looks like a Dicranum species of moss to me. Mosses are always amazing in the range of forms that exists.

Haha, sorry didn't mean to beat you to it!
I got distracted and took a long time to press the submit button.
If I knew you were already on it, I wouldn't have posted!

Yeah but beware that mosses don't always do well in the bleach dip. If its lab grown from Carolina biological I wouldn't worry about it. Otherwise you can do a drying out/ 100degrees F treatment for over 4 hours, a CO2 bomb treatment, or a soapy water rinse.

Or you could get mosses from Manuran. My only moss source I trust enough to just toss the moss into my Viv with no treatment. Shameless plug hehe
