It kind of looks like a water lilly type plant called floating heart? Any yellow flowers?

Nope no flowers, it was growing on land and in shallow water I found it at the edge of the spring and growing in the rocks near a water fall. I looked up that plant the leaves look different to me

That might be it! Those pictures look pretty close it looks like the plant creeps it grows a vine up and it gets a little seed balll at the end when it gets big enough it brings the vine to the ground and starts another plant still connected to the original
