I have had good luck with Lepanthes only during the cooler months, when temps in my viv range between 75 day and about 63 at night. During summer they either stop growing or have died completely, with temps averaging about 84 during the day and 78 at night. So, I think they dislike summer both because of the increased temps as well as less cooling at night.
I think if you can keep the temps below 80 and give cooler nights, say 15 or at least 10 degrees of nocturnal cooling, many will grow very vigorously. Otherwise they are a real pain. At least that has been my experience.
