Re: English Ivy
Taggdog,
When tearing out your ivy, make sure to wear gloves. The sap can cause you to have a mild rash. Also if it has adhered to the glass it will leave little tendrils that are a pain to remove. I am not sure how much has grown in your tank, if it has connected to the tank itself or if it has overtaken any of your plants, but the easiest way to remove it is to first cut the main root and let it die. Then remove the plant and leave the tendrils alone for about three weeks. After three weeks they tend to be a lot easier to remove. Make sure though not to leave them for a couple months because they will ionize and become hard as rock. These are impossible to get off. Good luck, ivy is a nightmare.
