Default Looking for a specific ground cover plant.

Hi all,
I'm hoping that I can get suggestions and idea from most of you.
I've tried my luck at java moss growing, not working out for me.

But I like the look of a fully covered fluffy green ground and even better if I can get it to grow on branches and BG.
Is there something that's a for sure easy to grow and will quickly take over the ground and anything it touches for me?

Doesn't matter if it's a moss, or a plant ect... as long as it covers the ground green and hopefully vertically as well.

Thanks

Have you considered Creeping Fig? Based on my experience it will cover an entire tank in a very short time. I have it in a couple tanks and it seems as if I am pruning every other week.

if you give ricca a lot of light and keep it damp it turns to an amazing green mat

I sometimes use pilea glauca as ground cover, it has tiny leaves and roots within a day or so after being put in a tank. It grows well on every single mix I have tried, and its pretty hard to kill as long as humidity is high. If you can't find any online, I have bunch so I could send you some cuttings.

This is what it looks like, not the best pic but the only one I had.

thx for the quick replies.
I have creeping fig now in my tanks and I like how it covers the background and such but I want more of a carpet like effect something very dense.

I've considered Riccia but like you said as long as it gets plenty light, I don't know how much is a lot of light for it. I've tried Java and i never grew in months so I'm not sure if Riccia would grow under same lighting conditions. But I would like the effect of Riccia.

The Piliea seems nice though I'm not sure how dense it is.

I've been recommended Sel. kraussiana before but have yet been able to find any in Canada.

The spikemosses make great ground covers too.

Tanks I'm looking for are as follows.

1 40gal 36x18x15 tank. 2x23W 6500k tube bulbs and 1 25W CFL 6500k.
2 18x18x24 exo terra with 2 25W and 2 13W CFL 6500K Bulbs.
3 is a divided 36x18x18 exo terra. Lighting undecided but will be of similar sort to the above mentioned.

Thanks

your lighting might be a tad low but ricca is not all that expensive and its always worth a shot, mines doe nothing for about 2 months on my waterfall and now its consumed it. i love it only plant that is nocer is hc which you might want to consider as mine is in a somewhat dull corner and it is doing well without any care

I notice you mentioned your riccia is doing well under your waterfall.
My javamoss is the same, the only place it has grown and well grown is under direct waterfall. But my other vivs do not have water falls and therefor the java does not grow.

What plant is HC? I might be interested in it if you say it works well, I've been wanting to give Riccia a shot as well for a while, I might order a bag or two off ebay as I doubt any one has riccia availble near myself.

Thanks!
