Default Cleaning Wild Tillandsia?

So I am down in Florida at my Uncles house, and he has a ton of wild Tillandsia in his trees. I asked him if I could take the ones that have fallen out and will die anyway he said go for it so now I have over 200 of them assorted sizes with two different species included somewhere in that 200... now I am just wondering what I can do to clean off all the little pests that are sure to be somewhere on them. Any suggestions? I am pretty sure a chlorine solution will kill them and I am not going to go as far as to asking my uncle if I can pop them in his microwave.

By the way is their any law against taking my beauties?

Earlier today I also bought a Tillandsia bigger then my head its a
Tillandsia Fasciculata for those who care.

My plant list down here in Florida, almost complete:

[] Staghorn Fern
[] Pitcher Plant
[x] Epiphytic Fern
[x] Some Common Tillandsia
[x] Couple Exotic Tillandsia
[] Two Bromeliads
[] Pupping Bromeliad
[x] Some Ivy
[x] Sprouting Of A Palm Tree
[x] Caught (And Released) A Couple Of Anoles

Forgot how great a vacation feels...

I'm not sure whether any of the bromes in Florida are protected but I suspect they are. But, I also suspect you are not alone. At least you only harvested what was down on the ground.

Opps, thanks for catching that- the Iphone's spell check software is annoying... Right now I am walking through a forest and I see a bunch of Broms, It's pretty hard resisting the urge to just set down my stuff and climb up the tree.

So, it's sort of like when I was in Panama. I had to think, is that available as a cultivated plant? It's always better to use captive raised and not wild caught if possible.

I looked up their price and it's one dollar each, I am sure I could bring down that price a bit in massive quantity's but two of the places that sold them admitted they just took them out of their trees and another place wouldn't say where they got theirs, which (hopefully) understandably made me skittish.

Sweet, maybe next time I'm down their I could meet you! Tomorrow my family is out boating, I think we are going to go snorkeling. I would so love to scuba, it's times like this I wish I wasn't so scared of the prospect of equipment failure.

So, I'm guessing no one has an idea how to clean them?

Hmm, now I'm stumped...
