Arrow ID my ferns

called into a local garden centre on spec and they had a deal on ferns - £1 each!

I think there is a Nephrolepis in the second image, but what are the other 2?

To plant them I first stood the pots in a tray of water for an hour or so, then I removed them from their pots and teased away as much damp soil as I could from the roots.

I then made shallow holes in my viv substrate (it only has a shallow layer in places) and then placed the ferns in and pushed substrate back into place.

Does this sound OK?

How should I be looking after them?

The first is Hemionitis arifolia. In the second picture on the right is a Nephrolepis and on the lift looks sort of like a Cryptomium falcatum but I really can't see it well enough. I normally don;t plant entire pots of ferns, or anything for that matter, in a terrarium. They seem to struggle to adapt to the higher levels of humidity so they may have some fronds die. They look nice and healthy. Keep us updated on their condition. It would be good to know.

The first is Hemionitis arifolia, The is a Nephrolepis on the right but I couldn;t tell you what cultivar it is

Thanks Harry - yes I had heard about them not liking wet leaves?

I will be installing a fan on the tank shortly that should gently blow air IN over this section through a layer of mesh in the lid.

Thanks for the IDs!

I think that these particular ferns will be able to adapt better than some although I have never tried Cryptomium in a terrarium. I'm also not sure that's what that one is.

Edit: Sorry for the nonsense bit at the end of my other post. I forgot to remove it before posting.

I hope they do well.... I haven't kept plants before.

I wouldn't normally buy stuff without knowing its requirements by the way... they were such a bargain though. There were a few other species too. Might have to take some pics with my phone if I drop in again. Shame they weren't labelled (and staff didn't know what they were).
