Default How to get this planted...

My father gave me a cutting of what I am almost certain is Maranta Leuconeura. It's just a random cutting, with about 6 leaves that seem to be doing the proper prayer plant thing - the leaves seem to be moving all right for now. Any case, it's just a cutting and I'm reading that the best way to propagate this plant is by division. With that said, will this cutting work? Right now it's dropped into a wet paper towel in a dixie cup and I was told it should grow roots in no time. Is there anything else I need to do for it? Do I need to wait for the roots before I can place it in the soil?

Yeah. Sorry. Newb about the whole cutting plants thing.

Wrap long fiber sphagnum around the part of the stem where the last leaves attach and plop it in your vivarium or terrarium. It will root eventually given enough humidity.

Thanks for the solution - I thought I'd replied to this earlier, but I guess I missed it. That worked perfectly! It's now rooted and happily thriving in it's new home!
