Default Low Growing Plants

I want to add some low growing plants to my 20H viv. I want to add some under story to my viv because the existing plants have grown pretty tall. I'm not really into any creeping fig. More interested in something that stays in a localized spot and doesn't grow taller than a couple inches. Anything like this out there and are there any pics?

Thanks in advance!

My suggestion would be Selaginella krausiana. It stays low and covers nicely given enough light. A really nice variety of this plant is S krausiana brownii. It is very low growing but it is also slow and not often offered. You could also try Baby's Tears (Soleirolia soleirolii). This plant loves moisture and spreads quickly. You will most likely be pulling it out in buckets though since it spreads fast.

Most of the vining Peperomia will also cover your viv floor if given some time.

Pep. prostrata being a good candidate.

Anyone ever tried Pilea microphylla or Mediolcalcar decoratum?

The Pilea likes the humidity but does not like getting too wet. It will rot if it does get wet too often.

The Mediocalcar is an orchid and does great in the viv mounted. I would not use it as a ground cover though.

My experience with Pilea is that it likes to grow towards the light only to get burned by it. So it gets tall and leggy. I would go and try a SaintPaulia (African Violets). Syngonium rayii seems to stay short, but can put out a vine too. Macodes petiola will stay short, and perty too.

I have thought about Baby Tears, but I have read a few posts where people have had trouble with it. Mainly it dieing out or just growing in a few spots for some unknown reason. Anyone had better luck with it?

My experience with BAby's Teras is if allowed to dry it will die. So it must stay moist. I have seen it growing in puddles of water so it can't be to wet.
