Default How do I take cuttings?

Hi all,

I have started a new tank as I have moved out of home.

I want to take cuttings from all the plants in my old tank that are doing well and use them as the base for my new tak.

is there a tried and tested method for doing this?

Many Thanks

Gary

It depends on the kind of plant. What plants would you like to take cuttings of?

Also, if the old tank contains frogs, dont forget to disinfect the cuttings to avoid any possible cross-contamination.

It works well for most plants with stems to get tip cuttings. If they have some roots along the stem all the better. If you are speaking of Begonias, most will root from leaves but getting a rhizome cutting would be better and quicker to take off in the new home. I list of plants would help determine the best method.

Have you tried searching this forum a little? I think someone asked this exact same question about a month ago or so. Give it look.

If you can't find it, please share with us the list or some pictures of the plants you intend to take cuttings of.

Good luck.
