Default brom help!

hey all, i am finding out the broms i have are rooting better in substrate than mounted on the back ground? what am i doing wrong? only two that are not in soil have sprouted tap roots, but one of them looks like the roots are drying or turning brwn? the broms still look good though, can anyone explain broms to me, and what i may be doing wrong? thank you!! too much light? too close to them?

More humidity. Put some moss/soil around the stolon for the roots to establish. Once penetrated they can be left to their own devices.

Depends on the genus, all broms differ some what. Neos are like a cactus that holds water.
