Default Brom damage

Well, I ordered some broms from a vendor ( I will not give out their name unless some one wants it via pm). I ordered a N. superball, a n. compacta, n. annix, and a n. june night.

The annix is in prime condition. The compacta has minor blemishes, as does the superball.

However, the june night I recieved has some heavy spotting which look pretty dead to me. I am wondering if there is something wrong with it: it hasn't improved at all since I recieved it around a month ago. If any brom experts out ther like Antone could shed some light on the situation it would be appreciated. I could just be 'normal' but the brom doesn't look it's healthiest....

There is more damage on lower leaves that are not visible in this picture.

Thanks for looking over this. If anyone has any comments, I would love to hear them. Cheers.

That June Night has suffered from what looks like burns. These happen a few ways. When broms are kept in too much light, when they are packed wet and sent in hot weather or when they are kept bunched up in hot weather outside even in the shade. This doesn't always kill the brom but it sure does look bad. If you can, cut the burned parts off but you don't necessarily have to. It will probably be fine. It just looks kinda bad.

I learned this the hard way unfortunately.

Hmm.....well this isn't good.

Antone, how would you suggest cutting off the parts? With clean scissors.......? And should the burned part in the middle of that one leaf be removed? Or is that a no no?

Oh well......By the way.....I can hardly wait for that brom/plant package from you Antone.....The arrival of more broms should make the appearance of that june night appear a little better. Poor thing....hopefully it will get better.

Well, like I said, you don't HAVE to remove the burned stuff but you can if you just can't stand to look at it. And yes, sterilized utensils are a must.

I'm looking forward to helping you out.

Well......I guess in the meantime I will just leave it be. It doesn't really bother me to look at it. I just wish there was some way I could help the plant haha.

Hopefully with the arrival of those 3 broms, the tank will look a little more planted in and the blemishes won't jump out so much......

Anyways, thanks for the quick and helpful responses Antone.....I appreciate it.
