Default Pillow moss

want to plant pillow moss into my 20 gallon tank. was wondering what kind of lighting and soil mixture i should use. Also how moist i should keep it and any other info that might help me.

Don't keep it wet. Moist yes, wet no. Lots of light. Even though you find them in shade out doors, even that light is brighter than the light you find in most vivariums. What are you using now for lighting?
I'd suggest nothing lower than 80 watts of fluorescent lighting (usually accomplished by two 40 watt bulbs).
You might want to break it up into many clumps to see where it likes it best. In some places it might die, in others it will flourish and take over from there.

Another trick is to sprinkle some dry soil on top of the moss, then spray it. This will help it grow some rhizomes and live in your tank. Don't burry the moss though, just a sprinkle.

Well. at least it seems to work. I recently tried it again about 3 weeks ago, with some tropical moss. The moss is growing strongly and has grown over the soil I sprinkled. Also, it is growing surprisingly well in deep shade.
