Default Terribilis calling

I have been wanting to get some mints but have hesitated because I'm in a small condo and the tank would be about 30 ft from my bed. Do they call at night? Would it keep me up? Is it so loud the neighbors will complain? I only have tincs so I'm used to silent frogs.

I have orange and mints, and it just depends on the frog. My mints are loud and my ornage is very soft. Mine do not call at night, but as soon as the lights turn on the are at it.

Their call isnt super loud... but loud enough to hear.... definitely won't keep you up at night.

Here's a quick vid of mine calling:

I had mints for years that would call rather loud. We could hear them in every room of the house. That said they never called at night... only when the lights turned on.

Thanks for the info guys! Sadly, still undecided. might just have to stick with my tincs until I can hear some of these guys in person.

As with the others, my mints only call when the lights are on. Never at night...and it can be a little loud, but not so loud that it'll be disturbing. I rather like it. It's like a soft bird call, and when they do call, it's usually only a few times for about ten minutes, then nothing for a few hours.

I don't keep mine in my own room, but it's not something that will disturb others in your house, and it's not something that should be too distracting to you. I think they're worth it. Besides, a lot of frogs are fairly loud when they call. My tincs aren't, granted, but calling is just part of owning adult frogs.

Lots of people will send you audio of their call if you cannot find a link or youtube it, never have since I have them with me, agreed never at night and it is mostly after meeting, I do not have the same opinion as I think my oranges can be as loud as my mints however age sometimes can make a difference... The call although deeper and easier to hear than a tinc would not keep you up even if you were a light sleeper, my wife who is not as familiar with them does not even realize they are calling however my yellow spotted climbing toads, that is a different story!

I have recording of my male mint calling pm me your e-mail address and I will send it to you.

He is a little louder than my pums but the call is awesome.
Like others said he only calls when lights are on never at night plus he only calls when he is in the mood.
Be ready they can be supposedly on and off breeders or so I heard but lay large clutches (15-25 eggs at a time), I stopped counting at 60 tads or so, they laid 16 eggs the day before I left for FrogDay. Thank goodness they can be raised communally.
