New tank construction

So I'm building a new tank for some Varadero dart frogs. I want to either do a GS background, or do something like a tree stump out of GS. What do you think? I'm going to start on it Friday evening.

I think that you should do a great stuff b.g. but carve it to make some cool vine or even a small tree stump. There are so many more possibilities if you do a great stuff b.g.-Good Luck

Yeah, I agree with froggies. if you do the background, you can maybe do a tree stump too. Why settle for one when you can have both?

I think you can do both. What size tank btw? You can carve and make vines with GreatStuff.
I recently started my build as well. Im doing an all cork background aswell as great stuff background.

Its difficult to do a tree stump build and for it too come out looking nice.

This is one of the vivariums that inspired me.

Construction starts TODAY... after work. I have decided I will attempt to do both. i will start with the GS background, once it dries, later in the week, I will do the tree stump.

Just finished my first. Learned yellow GS is a pain in the a$&. Spring for the black pond version. Easier to work with and if some gets left exposed doesn't stick out like a plumbers butt!

get the GS for windows it doesn't expand as much

i had an idea about how to help in making your tree stump. Get a piece of PVC and cut it in half (half circle way) and attach it to the background to serve as a base structure to GS on. You'll probably want to cover it in silicone so the GS will adhere to it.
