Default ultrasonic humidifier

I bought an unltrasonic humidifier and plumbed it into the tank. It works great and I recently got frogs to put in there. What I was wondering is what should I do with the filter that is in there. It says it can emit an acidic smell and will need to be replaced. Is this something that will hurt the frogs or should I just remove it completely? Thanks.

I have 2 tanks with ultrasonics on them and neither one have any type of a filter on them. I have had zero problems with them so I would say just remove them.

Just my .02

I know what you mean, but i was using tap water. have u been using distilled water, or spring water cuz' thats what ur gonna need to use. If you use that then u don't need a filter, then just gut it out, cuz' usually u will need the casing in there for thing to work.

I've been using distilled water so that's good. I figured I'd just take it out but I wanted to be sure first. Thanks.

ultrasonic humidifiers promote bacteria you better use the filter and distiled water and wash your humidifier out weekly
or you can buy an air-o-swiss humidifier like I did for over $100
they use ion tecnology that prevents the growth of bacteria
