RO storage tanks should have a 7 PSI charge on an empty tank (just a clarification for those that do not know). RO's built for in home drinking systems normally have a shut off that stops water production when the product(RO) water pressure is 50% of the incoming(line) pressure. Some of the RO's that are sold for fish keepers and such do not have a shut off installed, and will discharge water to the drain until you shut off the water going into the RO unit.
