Default Need large vert help

Being that I sold my veileds over the weekend.. I have a large spot nest to my rack that looks like it would be perfect for a large vert.
I know a couple of people here have them and was looking for some advice.
I was thinking a 75 or a 125 gal.
I wanted to know what kinds fo back grounds you guys have used and how they have worked for you.
Also any other pointers. And I will definately be getting a camera and taking pictures as I go.Although it wont be anytime soon Im still searching for the tank now.

So the starter questions were would a 125 be good for a vert? and what background with work best?

I've never built a viv that large, but I would think the largest obstacle you face is lighting. I believe Pigface has worked on some large vivs with construction journals posted.

I read about the one pigface did. I can guarantee mine will not look that nice. I am hoping he chimes in with some advice. Or I may have to stalk him since he lives close and beg for some advice.

Wow , my first stalker !

I don't know what size a 125 gal is 6' tall right ? Like its been said before you might have trouble lighting it . How about a 120 gal its got a 24"x24" footprint and 4' tall , that would be an awesome tank . And a little easier to light .
The background I used was the same as you would do on a smaller tank spray foam , silicone and coco , just on a larger scale and tree fern panels on the sides . You could probably use all cork or tree fern panels but they look kind of featureless and plain looking but would be easier to do than the foam and coco fiber .

I was thinking of , but I don't know how it would work or how silicone would stick to it ( maybe some one else will chime in ) but how about using the blue foam that they reccomended to use in the " makeing fake rocks thread " . You could build it outside the tank and then glue it in . Cut a piece that fits the back of the tank nice and go to town on it with a grinder - sander give it some texture , grooves , mounds ,ect . Silicone and coco fiber it then just glue it to the back of the tank ? Your husband probably has some laying around ? And it would be cheaper than a dozen or so cans of spray foam .

I dont know how you would want to do the door - front but you could probably have a acrylic insert made to fit it or make a euro style like mine ?

A large group of thumbs would love it .

i thought of the blue foam thing too. I am horrible at scultpting in the tank so I may try that route.
I also think lighting is going to be the hardest part. I wondered about running lights down the side also but I am not sure how that would work.

I will definately need different lights than the regular old fish tank hood lights I have been using now.

Any suggestions on what kind of plants? tall growing? Vining?

How does it feel to have a stalker???
