Default Amount of supplies to buy?

My 24x18x24 exo terra will be arriving later this week, and I want to get started on the background right away. How much Great Stuff and silicone should I buy? I realize that that depends on the features I have in mind, but I'd like to limit how many trips I make to Home Depot to under 50 for this project.

I'd like to maximize floor space as much as I can, but, I'll probably coat the sides about halfway up one side to give more room for attaching driftwood and plants.

Can anyone give a rough opinion? 3, 6, 9 cans of GS; two or ten tubes of silicone?

I would say that two cans, maybe three of greatstuff and three tubes of silicone should be sufficient. You might have some left over, but that is always better then running out and still needing some.

Exo-Terra does come with a pre-made background. Not the most attractive thing in the world imo, but after the viv is completely planted, you barely even see the background anyways.

Anyways, make sure to post some pictures when you start. Have fun.

I used 3 cans of great stuff and 2 or 3 tubes of silicone on my 40 gallon tank which is 3 feet long, 1 deep, and I used silicone on three sides, great stuff on 2 sides. Great stuff is about $1.50 cheaper at Walmart than Home Depot.
